"Our tribe believes that men should lead by example, and that we must never force our values and way of life upon other people, because we realize that everyone is attracted to the truth of a principle by seeing its philosophies lived out in the lives of its advocates. In other words, if you have good and powerful ideas, people will naturally follow. If not, perhaps it's your idea that isn't so good, and in our tribe, we believe that bad ideas should be allowed to die."

I speak for myself and I lay claim to my words, yet I reserve the right to check myself before I wreck myself, because after 40 plus years of numerous observations – from childhood, to the Marine Corps, to private contracting, and back to the civilian world – I have had enough experiences in life which have shown me just how little I know - therefore, I view myself as a ceaseless learner, I am teachable.
Because I am a member of a tribe that believes in sharing information, I share this with you.
I had been drafting a post in regards to Mr. Biden’s comments in this previous post, which we shared with you last week. Yet as I wrote the draft, I couldn't help but think that I was missing something. I wrote numerous drafts, tinkered with it, bounced ideas off of my own private think-tank looking for that which was alluding me, and as usual, as more information came in, I finally "got" it.
I am ashamed to admit it, because the puzzle pieces were in front of me the whole time, but it has taken me over 40 years to figure this out, and if you know men like me, then you know that once we have figured something out, we feel compelled to share it with those in our tribe.
A TACTICAL BACKGROUND - TRAINING, EQUIPMENT, INTEL
Because of my tactical background I know that one must recognize reality in order to survive. I also know that by having a bigger picture of your situation (additional information) one can make more well informed decision's - which in turn can better aid our survival.
For instance: Picture yourself on a patrol when you run into what you believe to be a simple ambush. If you simply react and attempt to address the simple ambush, you could be jumping into a world of hurt - because if there is more going on than what you perceive at your level, you may not have the information you need in order to do the right thing. If you are only working with part of the information you need to make good decisions and take appropriate actions, your actions can be ineffective, or even counterproductive. In the above scenario, you could be missing a much bigger complex attack, which was designed specifically for guys who only saw the simple attack coming.
To recognize and effectively deal with the larger attack, you need the proper training, proper equipping, the knowledge base/intel to draw from. If you have these, you can then make better informed decision, and therefore you can better deal with the reality that is in front of you vs. the decoy that you were being lead into believing was important.
Without these proper resources, you are taking action without a handle on the reality of the situation. In the above scenario, all of the actions you take to eliminate the simple ambush only serves your adversaries plans for you all the better. The longer you focus your efforts on the diversionary ambush, the more resources and time you waste fighting the wrong thing, and the better off your adversary is.
IDENTIFYING THE CORE ISSUE
To put it another way; in order to fix what ails us, we need to identify the core issue and treat the core issue rather than the symptoms. For instance, one can treat the pain (symptom) of cancer (the core issue) with morphine (symptom reliever), but the patient would still have cancer unless you do something about the cancer.
In this example, pain is a symptom, the underlying problem is the cancer - which, in our example - is causing the pain. If I only treat the pain, the cancer will continue to grow and continue to get worse. Sure, one can use more morphine to alleviate the pain, but the underlying issue (cancer) will continue to grow and cause pain, which will need to be medicated at greater and greater levels. If we want a cure, we need to address the core issue, in this example - the cancer.
There are many ways to treat the cancer (medication, radiation, surgery, etc.,) I am not advocating a particular treatment here, I am simply stating that if we want to be free from the pain of cancer, we need to identify the core issue, and treat the core issue, not the symptom.
I am not saying that the symptom shouldn't be treated, as long as it doesn't exacerbate the core issue and it alleviates the pain, I am all for it. But if the pain relief causes you to forget the core issue, you still have a problem that you will need to eventually address, or it will kill you. The longer you go without addressing the core issue, the harder it will be to fix the core issue.
WHY WE ARE WHERE WE ARE TODAY
This is one of the reasons we are in the political situation we are in today, because we have been treating the symptoms with powerful pain killers that are more addictive than anything sold anywhere today, all the while ignoring the core issue because our high has staved off the pain for just a little longer.
One can't effectively treat any disease if it is misdiagnosed. If the ailment is misdiagnosed and we are treated for something else, the real problem (in our example above - the cancer) remains and grows. The patient if medicated with another drug for the misdiagnosed ailment, may even feel some relief from the pain of his core issue temporarily, but eventually he will probably need more morphine to cope with the growing pain coming from the core issue. All the while, the real problem which is going undiagnosed and untreated will eventually kill the patient.
This is another reason we are in the situation we are in today, society has focused on the wrong core issues, and we are treating the misdiagnosed disease with strong pain killers that are targeting the wrong ailment, this is a deadly combination as you can well imagine.
Treat the cancer, and you need less morphine over a shorter period of time, and you can eventually live pain free without the morphine because you took care of the core issue.
ADDRESSING THE SYMPTOMS - RECEDING RIGHTS
The same is true of our current situation, we can address the symptoms (receding rights), or we can identify the core issues and work on those.
At this point it will be helpful to bring in a big brain who very wisely said: “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” - Albert Einstein
Einstein's quote is, I believe - one of the most important insights you can take to heart and apply to your life, keep that in the back of your head, always.
Looking at our current predicament in the light of all that I know and have been taught about tactical reality, I have come to the conclusion that: The time for compromise and seeking middle ground in our effort to defend our rights and property against those who would plunder us, has passed.
I believe that it is a futile fight, because we are addressing a symptom - the bad legislation that keeps flowing our way - instead of the underlying problem.
Don't take that wrong. If you are currently working on stopping bad legislation, keep doing a great job, and work harder at it. Why? Because in a fight, we need all the supporting and assistance we can get, and even delaying tactics are valuable as you marshal your forces.
Yet we need to recognize that our efforts and actions are not the mission in and of its self. We may act as medics, as riflemen, radio men, as part of a larger team, all pushing forward together in order to meet the commanders intent - which should be a mission of strategic value. While we are not the mission, we are important, as is our job. We all have a role to play, so don't stop your role if you intuitively recognize some value, even if it's just delaying the enemy, it's important - just understand that our efforts need to be unified and coordinated, we can't make serious progress until we work together towards the same goal.
My goal, is a freer and more prosperous society, one where there is true equality, maximum liberty, and peace.
I think that most people can agree that a freer and more equitable society is a noble goal, and I think that many people work towards that goal. But the problem is that the way to the goal has been muddled, we are on a contrived battlefield filled with smoke and mirrors, all of the noise and distractions have (like in our ambush scenario) been purposefully put there to keep us misdirected and confused.
Not only have we lost our way, we can't seem to find a functioning compass in order to get our bearing and head in the right direction.
THE TWO TRIBE THEORY
I now believe that society generally falls into one of two tribes. In this analogy these tribes are not necessarily a great distance apart, it’s just that they are polar opposites and can never naturally meet and stay together. These tribes are not segregated by sex, race, class, or religion - but rather - these two tribes are irrevocably separate on the simplest of all moral principles, one that even children recognize as correct, one simple philosophy that eventually becomes a stumbling block to far too many men with good intentions.
Between these two imaginary tribes, roam billions of individuals traversing across vast oceans of time and distance in an attempt to fill the needs and desires they have.
Not surprisingly, most all of these people are looking for kinsman-ships, clans, or tribes to align to and join. I believe this is because of humanities herding instinct. People intuitively know that their best chance for survival depends on their ability to get along, work with, and trade fairly with others. People intuitively realize that the more they can trade with others, the more opportunity they have to enrich themselves. They also intuitively realize that if they make a bad name for themselves, by doing wrong, they would be doing themselves no favors and in the long run, they would be making things rougher on themselves than they need to.
Philosophically speaking, a vast majority of the people on the earth are not necessarily firmly in either tribe, but rather, they are always gravitating to one of the magnetic poles or the other, shuffling between kinsman-ships and clans, simply trying to find those things that all men want, acceptance, peace, and security for themselves and their families.
EVERY PERSON HAS A RIGHT TO THE FRUITS OF THEIR LABOR
The tribe I choose to join and associate with believe in the power of teamwork through the voluntary exchange of ideas, products, services, etc. Our tribe believes that all people are created equal, that every person has a right to the fruits of their labor, and that no man has the right to coerce another man for any reason. Our tribe believes that men should lead by example, and that we must never force our values and way of life upon other people, because we realize that everyone is attracted to the truth of a principle by seeing its philosophies lived out in the lives of its advocates. In other words, if you have good and powerful ideas, people will naturally follow. If not, perhaps it's your idea that isn't so good, and in our tribe, we believe that bad ideas should be allowed to die.
You see, bad ideas die as they should - when men no longer believe in them - much like the idea of divine rule. Therefore we believe that other people should be free to live as they choose, even if we don't approve of it ourselves. All we ask from others is the same courtesy and respect for our decisions.
Admittedly, it's a small tribe, and many men don't yet even know they belong to it, and that's okay, even if they don't know they are in our tribe, we do, and we are better off for it.
I think the other - much larger tribe - believes in the same ideas, yet because of that one simple philosophical difference, all of their intended good quickly roots and turns into all the evils that haunt men.
You could say that these evils happen because this tribe is treating the symptom with something like blue pills from the movie The Martix and that pill is filled with a powerful pain killer, as a matter of fact, you could even say that the blue pill they are swallowing acts exactly like a powerful pain killer on the human mind - and some of them have not yet learned that repeating the same mistake over and over expecting a different result is the cause of all of their problems.
The proof of their failed philosophy, and their misguided way of thinking, can be evidenced by the vary failure their already numerous laws. Laws on top of failed laws, on top of more failed laws. Think about it, if a few laws can't tame the heart of man, all the laws in the world will only serve to make things worse. I would even argue that more laws and restriction on freedom will only serve to cause more problems, because man's heart longs to be free, and these restrictions against mans soul (which longs to be free) can only lead to more problems.
If more laws, jails, guns, bombs, police, and the surveillance state actually gave us what we needed, wouldn't we already be the safest nation on earth?
Do you see the pattern here folks? It is very clear to me, but then again, I am a trained observer, and I may be taking for granted what is so easy for me to see, may not be as self-evident to others.
If on the other hand, my observations are correct, and if we can see the cold hard logic in Mr. Einstein quote, then Dr. Martin Luther King was absolutely accurate in his diagnosis of what ails America when he said "In the words of the psychologists, America is - a schizophrenic nation."
And therein lies the rub.
Because of my various life experiences, I have come to appreciate the value in being able to appropriately adapt ones behavior with ones surroundings. I have spent a majority of my adult life trying to unravel this reality, and learning how to adapt to it. I therefore find it extremely difficult to have a reasonable conversation with people who are in denial of reality as I know it.
I realize that my problem with communications is in and of itself, another symptom. The root of my problem is me - not the reader or hearer of the words. I need to craft my messages for my target audience, and until I can do that, all the rest of my efforts are wasted sword motion preaching to the choir - and that doesn't help to win converts - and we need those converts if we want to make a difference.
See, I too can learn.
More importantly, if you are taking repeated action without favorable results, you are simply wasting sword motion and spinning your wheels, because you are doing the wrong thing to get resultsyou are expending time and energy, and not getting anywhere.
To say it another way "Keep doing what you're doing, and you will keep getting what you're getting." If what you are doing is ineffective, and you keep trying to do what you're doing in hopes of making a positive change, this would meet Einstein's very definition of insanity.
JUST LIKE A GUNFIGHT - RIGHT NOW WE ARE IN A DANGEROUS PLACE
Right now we are in a dangerous place. I know this because history is replete with the examples. There are easy patterns to see in history if you look, if a "knuckle dragger" like me can see them clearly, I assure you that all you need to do is open your eyes and look, and you will see. But in order to be able to see, you have to first perceive that there is something out beyond you, and in order to see whatever you can't see now, you first have to believe that something could be there, otherwise you will be blinded by the filtration system of your Autonomic Nervous System or "ANS."
You see, much like in a gunfight where your Sympathetic Nervous System or "SNS" limits specific input under stress, your ANS filters information as well. The simplest explanation is that your ANS only considers what it believes to be important. It's a survival instinct which is geared to keep you alive. The idea is this: You are out in the Serengeti, you see a lion, he sees you, you make eye contact, he turns towards you and begins to walk - the last thing you need at that time is to be distracted by that pretty blue flower over there...
The ANS helps us focus on what we have been trained to believe is important to our survival. The problems happen when our threats are not immediate, or we live in a sheltered environment where we have not had exposure to danger our minds have no idea what real danger can look like. Or when we have been taught to believe that reality is something it is not.
Now is a time where many of the good people will be gravitating to the tribe that believes peace through coercion is the answer. They gravitate this direction not because they are bad, and again - they are not that far from you and I… as a matter of fact, they are just like you and I, but with only one key philosophical difference that, as you will see (or perhaps already know) makes all the difference in the world.
I am not trying to be cruel here, these are observations that I have made, observations that are easy to make, and patterns to be seen by even the most casual observer. You can see them too, unless of course, you have closed your mind, in which case your ANS will filter them out, that's your ANS's job and it works well. The ANS filtration system is the minds way of focusing on what it believes to be important, and it will not allow you to see what have not been trained to see, or have been trained not to see.
It is the same type of response that gives us reactions like critical incident amnesia, which is a reaction caused by the SNS under high stress.
These are some of the reasons generally good people will - plug their ears, cover their mouths, and hide their eyes in order to deny the reality of their demands just so they can believe that their false assumptions were correct. They can do this and all the while hum Kumbia, with the sincere belief that their actions of coercing innocent men, women, and children out of their rights, can somehow come to good in the end.
They will do this not because they are evil, they will do it because they fear, because governments and religious leaders have learned to cultivate fear and play off of this fear (this pattern is what George Carlin called Social Hysteria), and because it is human nature to not want to recognize our own mistakes. They do this because no culture wants to admit that its own beliefs are myths. To admit to a mistake means you need to admit you were wrong, and admitting you are wrong takes a more enlightenment than people with their minds comfortably numbed by the blue pill of power, and clouded by cognitive dissonance - can bear.
Mix this powerful self-induced delusion with the powerful filtration of the ANS, and you can see the person shutting down mentally.
I am not poking fun of anyone, but if you want to see what I am talking about watch this video of Harry Reid arguing that taxation is voluntary.
First realize he is not arguing the principle, he is arguing the definition of words, he is disagreeing with - in his words - "(the) phraseology."
Next, recognize that the definition of voluntary is - proceeding from the will or from ones own choice or consent, unconstrained by interference.
Then realize he won't/can't hear the truth, nor can he reason it out, this is because reality so strongly contradicts his world view. The very idea is unbelievable to him, therefore the ANS shuts it out and he quite literally can't hear the truth that is being presented. Hence his agitation at the end of the interview.
I believe his reactions can very accurately be described as “disorganized speech and thinking, which is accompanied by significant social (or) occupational dysfunction." This is a text book case of the filtering of the ANS that I am talking about above, and a break from reality.
Listen carefully to an experienced lethal force instructor; you can’t win an argument with men who have no desire to communicate, when all that they want to do is force you to comply to their will so that they can have their way with you. This is what they live for, it's not just anti-social behavior, it's classical soicopathic asocial behavior.
You just can’t reason with that kind of crazy.
I know this sounds glum and foreboding, but it’s really not all that bad if you think about it.
Because freedom can't be stopped folks. Look at where humanity has come from, what we are learning, and where we are going.
If freedom could have been stopped, it would have been strangled in the cradle with the first empire, but it wasn't.
The fact that we are not laboring under men who would claim divine authority over us shows you that those who seek power over men's lives must constantly adjust to reality. They must abandon previous positions and claims to authority in order to meet the new reality. From god-men, to divine rulers, to divinely appointed rulers, to kings, czars, prime-minister, to presidents.
A PATTERN EMERGES
Do you see the pattern here? Allow me to outline it roughly:
1.) Men establish power over other men. The powers that be, justify this by telling everyone that it's for their own good, because it's the divine plan, "God wills it" or that it must be this way if you want to be safe and secure. The rulers over you need you to believe you have no better options but a slow scary death without them, or a slow scary death if you disobey them. You see, men in their ignorance believe those above them - this is human nature. This is how rulers keep others under them, by keeping them ignorant to reality, by painting pictures devoid of reality, so that the ANS can work its filtering magic on the human psyche.
2.) Because men are learning creatures and can't help it, they are always grasping for the "why." In grasping for the why, people begin to exchange ideas and information. In this exchange, people begin to understand that all men are really just men, some with power over them. This can take a while, as evidenced by human history, but the trend is undeniable.
Because many people first begin to suspect, and then realize the rulers above them are not what they profess (divine, blessed, inspired, or whatever), the people's attitude towards the authority changes. Because people's ideas of authority change, their actions follow, or as Jr. in the movie Platoon said so eloquently "Free your mind and your ass will follow."
Well said Jr., well said.
3.) As men change, so do their habits (they take action). This starts very simply at first. Perhaps they quit listening to the kings paid criers, perhaps they find innovative ways around the kings taxes. Perhaps they just quit buying the kings t-shirts, and instead of wearing the kings swag being a cool thing to do, it becomes a ridiculed behavior.
Whatever is done to undermine the kings authority, this hacks at the root of his power.
As more people realize that the times are changing, the fire of liberty begins to spread. At this stage, anything that the king does to stop the spread will only serve to prove to the people how corrupt he really is. This seals his doom, and while the wheel of reality may grind slowly, it grinds ever so effectively.
With the respect of authority removed, the legitimacy is questioned, as the legitimacy is questioned more people jump ship. The kings men can see the change, they get reports every day. As they see the change, they too begin to think about the man or group they serve, and the deeper questions the people are asking. The kings men too begin to question what they believe to be true... because at some point reality will not be ignored any longer.
If you think this is a little dramatic, please read Colonel David Grossman's book On Killing, you will be astounded to the truth that is in there, and then you too will have more information that will help you discern reality and see the patterns before you.
4.) Because all the people have lost faith in the men that lead them and control them, both the king and his men realize the gig is up. The king and his few remaining loyal men quickly find themselves in the same boat as their former subjects in their choices in the new reality. The kingdom eventually collapses from within.
This trend is called decentralization, in this trend there are patterns which you can learn much from.
Understand that the powers that were decentralized did not do so because they wanted to, but rather because they had no choice. The reality around them changed first, and it finally caught up with them. It happened because enough people in their kingdom figured out the game, they finally understand that the change they need wasn't being provided by their "leaders" and then they changed their behavior to match the new information.
Therefore those in power needed to change their game plan in order to remain in charge; and although they recognize that they had to take a step down in divinity they - or others like them - were able to consolidate power and start all over. Sometimes as kings, sometimes as mere mortal men in power.
This undeniable pattern is what has moved us from the leadership of "divine" men to leadership of men, and it is this pattern that will set all of humanity free very soon.
The power struggles you see today are not new, they are simply the death throes of a cruel and ancient idea who's time is long gone, but who's promoters haven't yet submitted to reality.
THE IMPORTANCE OF INFORMATION FLOW
The only way to stop this decentralization is to stop the information flow and keep the people ignorant.
Any communications source (book, newspapers, and magazine publishers, t.v.'s, cable, internet, etc.,) have the power to free the people from the chains that bind them. This is why the communications sources are the first things that are grabbed in war, and maintained by the powers that be until they are set free by the people.
The internet has been a particularly good gift for humanity, and I believe had the powers that be recognized the potential they would never have let it go public, much like the printing press, it was a "wild weasel" that had unintended consequences.
The internet is important to us because it has allowed global communications at the speed of light. This speedy communications allows us to pass on idea's in the blink of the eye that used to take days, weeks, months and year to travel the globe. It was this strong communications/information network that made the recent spring revolutions so successful, so quickly.
You see, once a popular idea get's out, it can't be stopped.
This is why the powers that be are so desperate to gain control over it now.
The potential power within the internet is only beginning to be tapped. There are more quality internet resources than ever before. More quality information is out there you can shake a stick at.
Do you like learning whatever you want, whenver you want? The internet is there for you, How about great free books? The Ludwig von Mises Institute is an excellent resource in all things economic and history related. Do you like in depth freedom articles on alternate points of view? Lew Rockwell and The Liberty Crier are excellent source of commentary with a nice freedom twist. Are you week in math, science, and art? Just look at what the Khan Academy has done. Would you like the worlds best education for free? Not a problem, great colleges like M.I.T. post their curriculum online and give it to the world for free. Would you like to hear individual freedom argued smartly? Then head on over to http://www.freedomainradio.com and enjoy.
If we have come this far in only a few years, just think about where we can go without the shackles of coercion holding us back.
At the same time, recognize that whatever we have been doing prior to now isn’t working as well as it was supposed to, because if it had been effective - we would be winning and I wouldn't feel the need to write this post.
As I mentioned above, we need to evaluate what we are doing so we can adjust our efforts to become more effective. Look at your actions, if they were not having the effect you desired, adjust your tactics accordingly, don't just keep doing whatever you have been doing, or relying on what you have been relying on, it's ineffectual and you're only wasting sword motion if you can't see change.
If you see something wrong in the world, don't just report it, get off your couch and do something about it. Don't look to others to solve it, get in there and get to work. If you are not working and you are complaining, you are part of the problem.
There is another danger you need to recognize. The failure to take the great idea that you have - whatever it may be - and changing the idea it into action.
I have been guilty of this myself. I was recently talking with a group of young and brilliant men who have some great ideas. They told me for hours about the ideas, and I must admit I thought their ideas were spectacular, they had me excited.
When I asked what they were doing with their ideas, they spoke of some vague time when all the stars would fall in to alignment, or a great provider would come in and help fund their project. You see, they too had fallen victim of man's common dilution, they were looking for someone/anyone else to save/guide them - they were looking outside of themselves for the solution to their needs, that only they can satisfy fully. This is the way it is, no one can truly free us but ourselves.
This is not entirely their fault, they have been raised in as mental slaves, always waiting on someone else to give them permission to move, to potty, to walk, to talk, and communicate, one can't but help understand that they are mentally hobbled when it comes to making their dreams happen.
I recommended a basic step for them, one that I know works, and I now recommend this first step to every person looking to change the direction they/we are heading. When you hear this basic step, you may roll your eyes, but if you pass it up, you will be missing the most important step needed to actually affect change in the world.
If you truly want to see change in your situation or the world, begin with yourself.
I realize that this solution may sound idealistic and simplistic to many people, but look at the undeniable pattern. This is the only way.
Gandhi said, “If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. ... We need not wait to see what others do.”
Look again at the examples above in changing rulers above you, you will see the pattern and recognize the truth.
Ask any accomplished leader of men (I have been privileged to know my fair share), he will tell you Gandhi was right. First you change, and then others will quite naturally follow you.
Look, at the pattern, if one man can do it, so can another.
Don’t wait, change for the better right now. Right now the world is looking for leadership in this time of uncertainty, don’t be afraid to step up and lead from the front - trust me, this is the precise time, this is the time you are needed the most. Now is your time, now is your hour, step up and start preparing yourself for winning.
I may not know much, but I have lived long enough and experienced enough to be able to promise you this; if you take no more action than you have been taking, nothing is going to change for you. You will forever be like those young men, waiting for some nonexistent superman/hero/philanthropist/leader to come to your rescue. How long will you wait? How much time do you really have? How much time will you waste before it's too late?
Remember how I said the powers that be had to change to the reality that the people now lived by? While that is true, one thing has changed dramatically, today the common man has the technology that can make it happen quickly.
If you are an older retired guy, you can help out too, we need you now, more than ever. I know you have already bore a heavy load my brothers, but you know in your heart of hearts I am right, and you know too that our time to act is limited. Get together with the younger warriors, they will bring you up to speed in a heart-beat.
Just remember, that people around you will not change until you change first. You must live the life, you must demonstrate your beliefs so that others not yet in the tribe can see the truth lived out by your actions, not just hear it being preached from our mouths and then violated by our actions or inaction's. I have been just as guilty as the next man in falling short in this area, I tell you now, every day it is less and less.
This is where the real battle is. It's the most difficult battle. Changing ourselves is hard, but that's the only way we will win.
THE MOST RELIABLE MORAL COMPASS
I freely admit that I don’t have the answers, and you know what? I don’t need all the answers, because by asking the right questions, and with one tiny, simple yet invaluable philosophy of the non-aggression principle or "NAP" as my north seeking arrow, I instinctively know which way I should go. Interestingly enough, that north seeking arrow always points to more liberty and more freedom - always.
The NAP is a simple moral stance which asserts that aggression is inherently illegitimate when used against innocent people. This is a universal truth that is immediately recognized as honorable and right by even children, but we have been programed and indoctrinated to believe otherwise. The lie that men can be trusted with lethal force to govern is as old as the idea of divine authority - and it is time to unshackle our minds of the lie and let the bad and murderous idea die.
At the same time, the NAP is not about pacifism.
The men in our tribe understand that violations of the NAP can and should be met with decisive violence. But that violence can only be justified when there is a necessary use of violence, and reasonable fear of immediate or otherwise unavoidable danger of death or serious bodily injury to the innocent. This is the standard that citizens are currently held to, and it is the standard that all should be held to.
We believe that the a person must demonstrate that their adversary had the ability, opportunity, and demonstrated the intent to immediately put the innocent party at risk of death or serious bodily injury, and we would further argue that if an innocent citizen is not demonstrating ability, opportunity, nor intent to do harm to another individual, that lethal force is never justified, regardless of the clothing/uniform/badge one may be wearing.
FINDING YOUR WAY IS EASY IF YOU HAVE A GOOD COMPASS
It is easy to see the way when your have a good compass, it is easy to see truth when you know where to look and what you are looking for, all one needs to do is observe, which so happens to be the first step in the decision making process, the Boyd Cycle, otherwise known as the OODA Loop.
The OODA loop is a pattern, and if you have eyes to see, you will see it throughout all life.
Observation is a funny thing, because observation is filtered by the ANS it is one of those skills that develop naturally in many people if – like in all things in life – they are motivated to learn and then given proper training. Herein lies another pattern in and of itself that you can learn from if you have half a mind to.
CAN WE KNOW THE TRUTH? IS THERE A BETTER WAY?
Do you wish to know what political philosophy will bring peace and justice? Simply ask yourself some easy questions such as: If the virtue of a belief can best be demonstrated by the results, how does this group look now? How about in the past? How do the people that profess the idea live? Do they learn from their mistakes, or do they repeat them over and over again? Do they freely admit that others should be allowed to live coercion free, or do they, despite all of the evidence before them, believe that good can come from coercive force, and only after total submission?
Thanks to the NAP, the path to freedom and prosperity is wider and clearer than it has ever been before, it has renewed my faith in seeing freedom in my lifetime, and it has restored my faith in humanity.
Think of the NAP as your red pill in a largely blue pill world, and I am not trying to be cute here, because once someone ingests this tasteless tiny pill (provided they don't reflexively gag it up because they choke on the idea of the contents), it changes everything - forever.
If you want to know which tribe you belong to, look at which one of the symbolic "pills" you would take without regrets.
Will you take the red pill that cuts through all the smoke and mirrors on this battlefield, the one that clears the mind and shows you what things really look like so you can address the real issues (even in yourself)?
Or are you in the habit of taking the blue pills for all of the worlds problems that just never seem to go away?
The blue pill is of course the violation of the NAP - unjustifiable force, coercion, and abuse of power - it is wrong to use against innocent people, and all good lethal force instructors know as I do; if you can't justify force via ability, opportunity, and intent, then regardless of who the wielder of force is, it is wrong to use force.
These are simple moral equations, they are simple for all men to understand, if they have eyes to see, and ears to hear. It is only a life time of indoctrination that can muddle the truths found therein.
If you take the red pill, change will happen, it is undeniable. If you take the blue pill, you may believe something is happening, but you are just spinning your wheels, waiting for the inevitable failed results, and a very unpleasant and unforgiving crash from your high.
For all of the problems facing us today, I am truly grateful to be alive in such exciting times, times when the winds of change can fan all the little brush fires of liberty that have been set before us by all those great men before us.
Don't just look at the stars folks, reach for them like the members of my tribe do on a daily basis.
Come, join us. Your tribe awaits.
